What is Shipping Engineer?

Supervise and coordinate the activities of the crew involved in the operation and maintenance of engines, boilers, deck machines, and electricity, sanitation and cooling equipment on board.

Task

? Monitor the availability, use, or conditions of rescue or pollution prevention equipment to ensure that international regulations are adhered to ? Monitor indicators of machinery or equipment when the ship is sailing, and report any oddities to the related ship staff ? Maintain an electric power system, heating, ventilation, cooling, water, or residual disposal ? Record orders to change the speed or direction of a ship, and record measurement results or test data - such as per minute rotation or voltage output - on technical notes or bellbooks ? Do or participate in emergency exercises, as needed ? Supervise and coordinate the activities of the crew involved in the operation and maintenance of engines, boilers, deck machines, and electricity, sanitation and refrigeration equipment on board
