Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah

Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah International Islamic University (UniSHAMS) is a state-owned university of the Kedah Darul Aman Government and registered with the Ministry of Education Malaysia (DU051 (K)).

UniSHAMS, formerly known as the Kedah Darul Aman Islamic Religious Institute before being upgraded to INSANIAH University College (KUIN) on May 15, 2006. The Kedah state government has committed to establish a state-of-the-art Islamic university in the state in line with its status. the most important state in the history of Islamic scholarly development.

The initial objective of establishing the State Islamic Religious Institute had to be Darul Aman to produce more Muslim professionals capable of leading the community and expanding Islamic knowledge. In addition to catering for the postgraduate students in religious education, they are pursuing higher education.

The establishment of the State Islamic Institute should be Darul Aman also to restore the true tradition of Islamic studies for the good of religion, nation and nation. His Excellency the Sultan of Kedah Darul Aman approved the Kedah Darul Aman Islamic Islamic Enactment passed by the State Assembly on December 7, 1994 under the Enactment Number 4 of 1995.
