Welcome to University of Cambridge
Cambridge’s academic environment is incredibly rigorous, fast-paced, and highly independent. It is distinct from many other universities due to two main structures:
- The Supervision System: This is the hallmark of Cambridge. Alongside regular lectures, students attend ""supervisions"" tiny, 1-on-1 or 1-on-3 sessions with a subject expert (often a leading academic). Students are expected to complete essays or problem sheets beforehand and then spend the hour defending their ideas, debating, and being critically challenged.
- The Collegiate System: Students don't just apply to ""Cambridge""; they belong to one of its 31 Colleges (e.g., Trinity, King's, or St John's). The College is where students live, eat, socialize, and receive their supervisions.
- Intense Terms: The academic year is split into three short terms (Michaelmas, Lent, and Easter), each lasting exactly eight weeks. Because the terms are so short, the workload is very heavy, and students are expected to manage their own time efficiently.

"An amazing university with rich history and excellent facilities for education majors. The lecturers are very supportive, and the campus environment in Tanjong Malim is extremely peaceful and conducive for studying."
"Great place to study. The residential colleges are comfortable and the new campus has great modern tech. The only downside is that the town is quite small, so entertainment options are a bit limited, but it forces you to focus!"
