Welcome to University of Oxford
Oxford’s academic culture is characterized by intense rigor, deep tradition, and a heavy reliance on independent study.
- The Tutorial System: Students have weekly 1-on-1 or 1-on-2 sessions with a leading academic in their field. Students must prepare heavily for these (usually writing a long essay or solving complex problem sets) and defend their work directly from the professor.
- The Collegiate System: Oxford is made up of over 30 independent Colleges (like Christ Church, Magdalen, or Balliol). A student’s College is their home base for accommodation, dining, socializing, and their tutorials.
- Intense Terms: Oxford also has three very short, intensely packed eight-week terms (named Michaelmas, Hilary, and Trinity). The pace is extremely fast, and falling behind is not an option.

"An amazing university with rich history and excellent facilities for education majors. The lecturers are very supportive, and the campus environment in Tanjong Malim is extremely peaceful and conducive for studying."
"Great place to study. The residential colleges are comfortable and the new campus has great modern tech. The only downside is that the town is quite small, so entertainment options are a bit limited, but it forces you to focus!"
