Institut Pendidikan Guru - Kampus Temenggong Ibrahim

Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Temenggong Ibrahim (IPGKTI) was originally known as Temenggong Ibrahim College. The process of upgrading began when the Cabinet approved the application including allowing the Teacher Education Institute to award the Bachelor of Teachers and Bachelor of Education on July 13, 2005.

The House of Representatives passed the Education Amendment Act 1996 on August 25, 2008 to allow the Teachers College to be upgraded to the Teacher Education Institute. The National Assembly approved the amendment to the Act on December 4, 2008. The official announcement was made by then Education Minister Datu Hishamuddin Tun Hussein in 2009 and officially all 27 colleges have been upgraded to the Teacher Education Institute including Temenggong Ibrahim College.
