About Institut Pendidikan Guru - Kampus Ipoh

Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) (Kampus Ipoh) was started in Kangar. Initially, 161 first-grade teachers was assigned to the Kangar Girls National School as a temporary campus. The first principal of this institute was Mr. Abu Bakr bin Don and the Vice Principal was Mr. Khalil Shah bin Jamaludin. The number of lecturers at that time was 13. On January 1, 1977, the institute was relocated to Ipoh by occupying the Kinta Institute of Technology building on Dairy Road, Ipoh. On April 1, 1977, the institute relocated to a temporary campus in Kampung Dato 'Ahmad Said, Manjoi, Ipoh and became known as the Ipoh College (New) College.

The 42.5-acre campus on Hulu Kinta was completed on June 1, 1983 and the institute has relocated and remains to this day. The Ipoh Campus Teacher Education Institute was opened on May 2, 1987 by Y.B. Dato 'Seri Anwar Ibrahim who was then Minister of Education. Now the Ipoh Campus Teacher Education Institute has grown under the leadership of Mr. Hj. Kamarulizham bin Hazizi is currently the director of the institute. The Ipoh Campus IPG offers courses related to the college including the Master's Degree Program (PISMK) in collaboration with the Malaysian Open University (OUM), the Bachelor's Degree Program (PISMP), the Post-Graduate Courses (KPLI) ), Malaysian In-Service Course (KDPM), Vacation Course (KDC) and others.
