About Institut Kemahiran MARA Lumut
IKM Lumut started operating in 1977. It was officiated by Y.B Tuan Hj. Abu Manan bin Othman P.P.T, Minister of Enterprise Malaysia on 23 June 1979. At the initial stage, there were only three majors conducted at IKM Lumut. The courses are as follows:-
1. Gas & Arc Welding - 15 trainers
2. General Machining - 15 trainers
3. Electricity - 15 trainers

Recruitment of MARA Educational Institution (IPMA) students is done twice a year, in January and July each year.
