About Institut Latihan Kesihatan Angkatan Tentera

The Armed Forces Training Institute or INSAN is a training institution under the administration of the Health Services Division of the Malaysian Armed Forces Headquarters. The institute is located in Kem Terendak, Sungai Udang, Malacca. The main role of INSAN is to provide, train and produce trained paramedics to meet the needs of the Malaysian Armed Forces Health Services which encompasses three branches of service, the army, navy and air force.

The initial history of the establishment of INSAN began in June 1965 with the Army Medical Company, with all skills training for medical support members conducted in Port Dickson. In November 1965, the training center moved to the Sungai Besi RMAF Hospital, Haigate, Kuala Lumpur. In 1970, a training committee was established at Shadow Camp Hospital to manage and coordinate skills training. The Medical Company was dissolved and instead the Sekolah Ubatan and Gigian (SKUG) was established on May 14, 1980. In 1988, the training center was later changed to the Health Corps (SKK), while in 1994 it was renamed the Military Health Training Institute Land (INSAN TD). Beginning on January 1, 1996, the name of the Armed Forces Training Institute (INSAN AT) became official
