About Kolej Universiti Islam Melaka

Kolej Universiti Islam Melaka otherwise known as KUIM is a State Government-owned Institution of Higher Learning established under the IPTS Act 1996. The State Government is committed to driving educational excellence in line with the goals of Melaka Maju 2010, KUIM was upgraded to a University College on 1 July 2009 by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. Formerly KUIM, known as the International College of Islamic Technology of Malacca (KTIAM), it created a paradigm shift in introducing a new educational institution, a combination of Islamic studies integrated with science and applied in conjunction with psychological disciplines.

In an effort to rebrand, KUIM has established its niche in psychology where it is the first private Islamic university in Malaysia to develop studies that focus on psychology at the graduate level as an intervention to reduce psychological problems among individuals and communities while addressing labor demand in various public and private sectors.

In line with this, KUIM continues to step up as the "Gateway to the Study of Human Psychology" which continues to rely on a clear mission and vision to address various challenges and changes. The philosophy of learning that combines the elements of faith, academic and vocational (worldly and ukhrawi) to produce a committed and progressive group that is in line with Melaka State Government's aspiration for knowledgeable and capable generation in various fields of Islamic studies, technology, social science and up-to-date knowledge and high endurance to meet current challenges.

In order to ensure KUIM continues to excel in line with the motto of "Quality of Success", programs offered across various disciplines including Islamic studies, business studies, Islamic banking, shariah law, nursing, biotechnology and information technology are competitive. and competitiveness that meet the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) certification. Internationalization of KUIM through its domestic and overseas academic networks can be proud as KUIM now has international students from Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Indonesia increasing from year to year.

Even the sending of KUIM students pursuing studies in Egypt, Jordon, Morocco and other countries in the Middle East was very encouraging. With KUIM's outstanding achievements and achievements, KUIM is determined and steadfast in its commitment to become an international university of Islamic education, science and technology.
