Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara Kinarut

The Kinarut Sabah Youth Skills Institute (IKBN) was established under the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia and is built on a 30 acre plot of land. The institute commenced operations on January 17, 2003 and is located about 24 kilometers from the city of Kota Kinabalu.

It aims to provide a current implementation-based training approach that includes Human Resource education and Skills Training. Human Resource Education is carried out through religious activities, marriages, leadership, entrepreneurship, citizenship, community and sports. Skills Training consists of theory lectures (30%) and hands-on practical training in workshops (70%). The institute is also one of the centers of excellence for specialization in Civil, Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

The IKBN is set up as a government discourse in providing the country with skilled and fiArst-class human capital and labor in line with the National Development Policy. The establishment is also to meet the growing demand for skilled labor. This will help solve the country's shortage of skilled labor. Expected production capacity of 800 people is expected to be fully operational.
