What is Geological and Petroleum Technicians?

Geological and Petroleum Technicians are tasked with assisting scientists or engineers in the use of electronic, sonic or nuclear measuring devices both in laboratory and production activities to obtain data that shows the potential of resources such as metal ores, minerals, gas, coal, or petroleum. Investigate and gather information that leads to the possibility of discovering new deposits of metal ores, minerals, gas, coal or petroleum.

Task

? Operate or adjust equipment or equipment used to obtain geological data ? Supervise the drilling of oil, water or gas wells ? Participate in geological, geophysical, geochemical, hydrographic, or oceanographic surveys, prospect field visits, exploration drilling, well logging, or underground survey programs ? Test and analyze samples to find out the content and characteristics, using laboratory equipment or other test equipment
