What is Geology?

Geology is part of earth science. This field plays a very important role in the planning and implementation of sustainable development as well as various future businesses related to land. Some examples of fields that require soil expertise are agriculture, plantation, forestry, land use, planning and regional development, soil conservation, rehabilitation of fisheries, mining, and so on. Therefore, students will be educated to be reliable, capable as practitioners, researchers and policy makers related to agriculture, especially land resources.

Land is a crucial natural resource as a compiler of land that is very necessary for the survival of organisms, such as plants. Therefore, proper land management is needed so that it can obtain optimal yields from planting. In addition, the preservation of land needs to be maintained, but the process of land reclamation and conservation of damaged land requires a very long time. Therefore, this department is present to learn about science related to land from a different perspective so that we can manage the land sustainably.
