What is Ethnomusicology?
Ethnomusicology or also called Music Anthropology, as the name implies, is a combination of music and culture. Simply put, Ethnomusicology studies the relationship between socio-cultural aspects of music and dance in a global and local environment. In this study program you will study music in various regions in Malaysia and also foreign music. You will learn about how culture can influence art in an area, especially the art of music and dance, and vice versa, how music and dance affect culture in an area. Besides studying Ethnomusicology theories, as a student of Ethnomusicology study program you will certainly also learn how to play typical music from various regions.
