What is Manufacturing Engineering?
Automotive Manufacturing program emphasizes on the production of graduates who are able to adapt the latest and future technologies to produce innovative and competitive automotive products. The program has been strategically designed to produce graduates who can totally understand at every stage of automotive product processing, part design as well as having expertise in all automotive disciplines in addition to having excellent soft skills. Quality And Productivity program focuses on the application of new technologies, techniques and the right methods to achieve high quality and productivity, especially in manufacturing systems. New production methods and controls, such as “Lean Manufacturing” and other related techniques will be introduced to students through this program. Quality control and productivity are the best elements in the management of manufacturing systems and are widely used in various industrial sectors that do not only focus on the quality of products or services alone. Learning will be implemented theoretically and practically. The application of leadership skills to students is also emphasized, especially in decision making for an organization. Technology & Process program focuses on manufacturing engineering and processing technologies that have been developed and used by industry. For example, advanced machining processes, advanced materials, rapid manufacturing, CNC technology, precision engineering and nanotechnology. Students will also be exposed to the types of processes involved in the production of the product as well as the existing product processing scenarios in the current market. In fact, students are introduced to the use of the latest technology in the production of more creative and innovative products. Industrial Automation & Robotics program focuses on a synergistic combination of several engineering disciplines namely electrical and electronics, mechanical as well as control. The program aims to produce graduates who are competent in maintaining and troubleshooting control system equipment, robotic and automation systems as well as mechatronic products consisting of mechanical and electronic systems controlled by computerized systems. Manufacturing Design program focuses on the latest design manufacturing technologies for the heavy and light industries. Students will be given exposure to various perspectives for design starting from the early stages of product development to the production of products that have been integrated with the latest technologies and systems such as Computer Aided Design Drafting (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), Fast Technology, Laser Cutting, Integrated Engineering and Rapid Prototyping.
Why did you choose this programme?
Manufacturing Engineering Technology is an applied engineering field that looks for better ways to manufacture products Including reducing cycle times, maintaining quality and keeping costs reasonable.. This field focuses on the design, development and operation of integrated systems of production to obtain high quality & economically competitive products. These systems may include material handling equipment, machine tools, robots or even computers or networks of computers.
