In this study program you will have many practical activities to create design works in various media, such as posters, logos, illustrations, web designs, photos, videos, animations, and more. Initially this study program was known as Graphic Design. But along with its development, Graphic Design was developed into Visual Communication Design. The fundamental difference between the two lies in the medium. At the beginning of its development, Graphic Design refers to the scope of 2D graphics (images) in print media. But Visual Communication Design has a wider scope, because visual messages are now not only in 2D graphics in print media, but also 3D graphics and those moving on electronic media and various new types of media that appear as interactive web media. Therefore, many universities have changed the name of the Graphic Design study program to Visual Communication Design. This program now also has a variety of specializations in several universities, such as graphic specialization, multimedia, and advertising.
