What is Green Economy?
The Green Economy study program is the development of Development Economics which implements the principle of sustainability. Green Economy applies the principle of development of regions / countries that do not only rely on natural resources by carrying out continuous exploitation, and environmentally friendly development activities. Simply put, the Green Economy is a combination of economics and environmental science. In the Green Economy study, economic activities prioritize long-term use rather than profit, which of course takes into account environmental factors.
Why did you choose this programme?
The Malaysian economy still depends on the utilization of natural resources which leads to over-exploitation. This will have a negative impact on the environment. Because of this, many experts and economic observers are starting to consider a new economic approach, and are starting to abandon the old approach that is only based on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth without regard to environmental issues such as global warming and extreme weather. This study program is perfect for those of you who aspire to become an economist, and on the other hand have a concern for the environment and the survival of life on earth.

Job Prospect for Green Economy
As with the Development Economics Study Program, graduates of the Green Economy study program are also prepared to become an analyst and consultant in the economic field. Economic knowledge from a new perspective becomes more value than Green Economy graduates who make it needed in national and international institutions and organizations or companies. In addition, graduates of this study program also have the potential to become lecturers (of course continuing their education to the postgraduate level first) Green Economy, because currently there are still very few instructors and economists who understand the concept of Green Economy.
