What is Oceanography?

Oceanography is the study of marine phenomena, which may be applied to many fields, such as engineering, environment, marine disasters, fisheries, and disaster mitigation. The behavior of the sea is indeed difficult to predict, high waves, sinking of small islands due to sea level rise, storms, tsunamis, and so on. Oceanography is very interesting to explore and learn.

Why did you choose this programme?

About 70% of the earth's surface is sea and only 30% has been discovered. The weather or climate that occurs on land is affected by what happens at sea depending on the Earth's magnetic gravity rotation. This department has an important but less popular role. If you choose Oceanography, then you will have the knowledge and expertise that many people don't have.

Job Prospect for Oceanography

Climate change and the dynamics of the marine situation still have the opportunity to be studied. The place for oceanographic graduates is still open. Oceanographic graduates can work as coastal modelers, oceanographic surveyors, metocean engineers, hydrographic surveyors, oceanographers, marine seismic navigators (marine navigators), marine environmental scientists, and many more.
