What is Biochemistry?

Biochemistry is the study of the role of various molecules that take place in the body of living things (metabolism). Biomolecules that play a role in metabolism including proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids. Biochemistry is divided into several focuses, including Metabolism, Biomolecular, and Bioanalysis. Biochemistry is the science that is the Department of Medical Education and Chemistry study programs. But Biochemistry is now more focused on one study program. Biochemistry students learn about the chemistry, molecules, and chemical processes needed in life. In this department you will learn about substances such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and nucleic acids that make up the genetic code of living things.

Why did you choose this programme?

As the name implies, Biochemistry consists of a combination of Biology and Chemistry. Therefore, to study Biochemistry, you must like both subjects. In addition, interest in biological and chemical reactions that occur at the molecular level of a living creature will also greatly help your learning process in this study program. Learning Biochemistry will make you understand how your body can function in its entirety.
